Mini Book & Box

I have been to Signature Craft Studio again today for a class with Kathy and made this gorgeous little mini book with a presentation box. The little flower on top of the box was stamped onto different colour backing papers then cut out, shaped to give dimension and then fastened to the top of the box with 3D foam pads. The flowers and leaves then covered with glossy accents to give a lovely finish. Of course, a little bit of glitter glue had to be added for that bit of extra bling!!

The mini book was created with the basic materials available in kit form (pack of 3 by Magenta I think). The outer cover was made using the same backing papers used for the flowers on the box lid and a stamp, also by Magenta for this purpose, then watercoloured with a length of ribbon being hidden by the cover to finish off perfectly.

Thanks Kathy for a great class, as always :-)

40th Birthday

The two cards were for a great friend of mine for her 40th birthday. The top card was stamped with a stamp from an unmounted set but am not sure who it's by, and coloured with Promarkers. The backing papers are from Craftwork Cards with the lettering cut out with my new Cricut - woohoo!!.

The second card is with a fab Penny Black stamp, again coloured with Promarkers (need the practice ...) and backing papers from DCWV. The lettering is again from the Cricut.

Father's Day

I know this post is a bit late but that's because I gave this card to my dad to take on holiday with him for Father's Day and forgot to take a photo of it!!

The lettering was printed on the computer, coloured with Promarkers and 3d'd (?) onto the card with pinflair glue with the mini tool kit from my stash. Simples .....

Classic Car

This was another simple card (it is a card for a bloke after all .......) and was just using matting and layering and a bit of decoupage. I'm getting used to this easy life :-)

Sorry if my comments have upset any fellas out there, I am only joking (ish) LOL

Cutie Kit

Well, I don't normally go for kits but just couldn't resist this when I saw it!! It included lots of different die cut images, backgrounds, accents and greetings so is ideal for any last minute rush.
I made the pink card into a shaker card for a change and just think they are sooo cute. Nothing much more to say really as they were so simple to put together - fab!!
Sorry about the colour of the pics, think I must have taken them in a funny light ....

Here comes the bride .....

Keeping with the anniversary, weddingy theme, here are a couple of wedding cards. I just love House Mouse and can never resist using them on wedding cards. The backing paper is from Kanban the I used a border puch on cream card for the trim.

For the other card, I thought I would use peel-offs onto handmade paper for a change. The mirri card is also from Kanban but was a nightmare to photograph!! I eventually managed to somehow get a picture without it having a reflection of me with a camera in my hand - way too scary for anyone to see!!

I'll try and post a couple more pics for you tomorrow if I survive giving my horse, Storm, a bath. If it's particulary amusing day, I might even put some photos the event!! :-)

Have a great day in the sun tomorrow

Tag Card

After my friend "reminding" me about my blogging, I thought I'd better nip in and show you a couple of cards that I have made. I have been making the most of the sunshine and been spending nearly all of my time with my horse so have got a bit of a backlog!!

I have also been going along to classes at my local craft shop, Signature Craft Studio in Burton on Trent, and met some lovely people while enjoying learning different techniques.

For this card, the tags were stamped to create a background and the three images stamped and painted with shimmer paint. Add a few bits of ribbon and, hey presto, and annniversary card for my dad and stepmum was finished.

Penny Black Challenge - Happy Birthday!!

Good Morning Everyone :-)

Well, following my previous lapse, I am determined to keep my promise and have even created a card for this weeks Penny Black Challenge already. I can't believe that their challenge blog is 1 year old already and, if you haven't had a look at it before, you really must pay them a visit at

They really have some amazing challenges and beautiful examples by the design team. The only trouble is that it feeds my addiction to Penny Black stamps and I have now lost count of my Penny Black stash!!

Anyway, enough of my rambling here is my entry for this weeks theme "Celebrations" For some reason though, the bloomin' camera kept making the picture a funny colour so it doesn't quite show it at it's best (honestly).
Right, after spending all morning being surrounded my glue and ink, I'm going to throw myself into the exciting activity of doing the washing and mowing the lawns while the sun is still shining. Have a great day xx

Penny Black Saturday Challenge 52 - Blooming Gorgeous

Hello everyone.

Firstly I would like to apologise for being a bad blogger recently. I have been crafting (honestly ...) but really haven't been able to find the time (maybe I haven't been looking hard enough!) so I thought I should give myself a kick up the backside and get back on track.

I will try and post every day so I can at least catch up on the things I have been doing, and to keep in touch with my crafting friends who I have badly neglected of late. I'm so sorry girlies :-)

I'm going to start my new regime with my most recent creation which I have made for this weeks Penny Black Challenge. I made this card for my niece Abigail who had her 12th birthday this week. Because I have been teaching her to ride, I thought she would love something featuring ponies and decided I would try something completely new and make her a 3D box card. I am still practising my technique with the Promarkers but was quite pleased with the result. All hints and tips for these pens gratefully received ...... I hope you like it.

Cutie Card

This lovely image was kindly sent to me by Pauline (www.passionforpapercraft.blogspot.com) and as I need to get a few cards in stock, I decided to get cracking. Hope you like it.

Need to go and put my feet up for a while now. I've been at the Hobbycrafts show at the NEC and not only are my feet aching, but I need to go and play with some of the stash and just had to have ...... I'll post my results over the weekend - hopefully

'Ole Blue Eyes ..........

I made this card for my fab dad's birthday a couple of weeks ago. Yes, he was 21 again ......... I know, I know I don't need to tell you how young he is - you only have to look at me to know that!!

The backing cardstock is that lovely coloured core card that I have put through the Cuttlebug and then sanded the top off. I really do love this decoupaged image and thought it was really fitting for dad's birthday and he said he loved it. (Actually he might have been talking about the cake he was holding at the time .......)

Friday Sketchers 42

My sister asked me for 30th birthday card for her friend so I thought I would use the Friday Sketchers callenge for some inspiration.

The image is by Papernation (now known as Jolly Nation) and was coloured with watercolour pencils and Sakura pens with the bit of added glitter and glssy accents on the wine glass. The scroll and the numbers are from my trustly Cuttlebug. The lovely backing papers are by Craftwork Cards.

New Blog on the Spot!!

My gorgeous niece, Abbie, is a very talented young crafter and always surprises me and the whole of the family with her wonderful cards and never ceases to amaze me with her ideas.

She has been to the last couple of craft shows with me and is getting quite a little set up of crafting stash in her bedroom. She made the above card for my birthday last week and has been asking me for ages to set up a blog for her.

Well, we have finally managed to find time to start her blog for her tonight and I'm sure she would love you to visit and leave your comments for her. Click on http://abbiesglitterpage.blogspot.com/
and take a peek.

Fit Chicks

This stamp was one of bargain buys from the last craft show at the NEC in Birmingham (only three weeks to the next one and counting ....) I think the pink was just a must!!

New Baby

I was asked to make a keepsake card for Noah (new baby to some friends of mine) and managed to get his first photo. Taken when he was only around 1//2 hr old on Tuesday, I thought it would be nice to use a scrapbook style layout.

The alphabet is Penny Black and the backing papers K & Co. Photo courtesy of Noah's auntie Debbie and her mobile phone - the wonders of technology .......

Chocolate Anyone?

I just love this House Mouse stamp but haven't used it before. My daughter had her birthday a couple of days ago and, as she is a real chocoholic, I thought this would be perfect for her.

The image is watercoloured using pencils, the lettering is using the curly alphabet from Cuttlebug and the backing papers by K & Co. The greeting is also a House Mouse stamp.

Penny Black Challenge - Week 36

This weeks challenge was a sketch and I have had soooo many cards to make this week, it seemed a shame to waste the opportunity!

I just love this Penny Black cat and decoupaged the washing for him and added a couple of "real" pegs. The image was watercoloured and the backing papers are by K & Co. The ribbon was stamped with a Penny Black greeting using Stazon, a couple of flowers and a few frops of liquid pearls, phew another one down ......

Black and Orange Mini Challenge

I have made this as a mini challenge set by a Sarn (just discovered it was actually set by Fae) , a friend of mine and the just for fun challenge was to create a black and orange card and add at least two separate embellishments. Eeh I did struggle for a bit with this, orange is not a ususal choice really. I then decided that it would suit an oriental theme - so here is my offering!!

The dragon was stamped and embossed onto black card which I then painted with the nearest I had to orange of twinkling H2O's. I then rubbed over the image so that the embossed outline would show through. Added a couple of Japenese little "coiny" looking thingies fastened on which ribbon and some Japanese symbols (I hope they don't say anthing rude .....)

Little Sis's Birthday

These cards were all made for my Sister, Denise's 40th Birthday. The Penny Black sheep from me (never too serious of course) one from her husband (I think you can guess which one that is ....) and another to go with the present the whole family bought her.

Horsing Around

I just love these horsey images by Penny Black (bit of a theme here ...) but these two cards were made for two of my friends who have horses. I didn't realise until now though that I had used the same stamp for both!!

Simply Slim

I thought I would try my new distressed ink pad out and make something purely with stamps and am quite pleased with the result.

The flower is Penny Balck and the lovely scrolls are from an acrylic set by Basic Grey. The setniment didn't come out very well with just the ink so I have since embossed it and the little dragonfly. Finished off with a bit of bling and ribbon and job done, all in a few minutes!!
