Feeling Uplifted!!

Wow, it's amazing what you can achieve in a day when the sun's shining. I've mowed the lawns, dug the borders, planted some bedding plants, done all of my washing, half the housework, walked and bathed the dogs, cleaned out the hamsters and, wait for it- brace yourself - cleaned the windows!! Look out for all of this groundbreaking news on the late BBC News .....
Not only that, but after all of the inspiration you have given me, I have finally made the card that I had in mind when I bought this image at Bolton a couple of weeks ago (Sandra's fault) and am really pleased with the result. I love it :-)
I printed two of the Penny Black Uplifting Occasion images onto white card stock and coloured it with watercolour pencils and added a bit of glitter to the washing and the butterflies. I then cut out one of the images and decoupaged it using foam pads and adding the little clothes pegs in place of the ones on the stamp. I then edged the card with a Sakura blue silver shadow pen to give some defenition. I layered it, again using foam pads to give extra depth, over a piece of K & Co paper which I decided to tear rather than give it a straight edge. I finally added the ribbon, brad and the three gems. I haven't added a sentiment yet because I can't think of parting with it just yet and am waiting for my Woodware sentiments to arrive (Sandra's fault again, she's a dangerous woman you know and a little bit gargoyle looking!!)

Abbie's Beautiful Creation

I was lucky enough to win tickets to the Make It Show in Bolton a couple of weeks ago and went along with my friend Lyn and my niece Abbie (who is 11 on 9th June!!). To say thanks, Abbie made me this gorgeous card using some of the goodies we bought on the day. I don't know what everyone else think but I thinks she has done a really lovely job with the finishing touches. The little gate opens and she has even used silver card and cut out a tiny padlock. Thanks Abs, it's lovely xx

One for the Boss!!

I made this for my Bosses birthday ( I work for a road surfacing company) using Paper Nation decoupage. I re-styled the fella's hair though so it resembled him. It went down a treat and he bought the cream cakes!! Didn't get a huge pay rise though, maybe I shouldn't have mentioned his age :-(

Flitters & Flutters

I just love this set of stamps from The Stamp Man Aspects of Design.
The butterflies were stamped onto white cardsctock and watercoloured used Sakura glitter pens. The image was then mounted onto silver card and the blue floral background was from one of the many packs of paper I have already collected. I finally added a couple of curly paperclips and yes, once again I was very brave, took a deep breath and used more ribbon.
The lady that was leaving work loved the card so it was worth the ribbon sacrifice!!

Poorly Daughter

I made this card for my poor daughter who has glandular fever :-(
I used pre-printed cardstock and stamped the House Mouse image onto white card. I then watercoloured the imaged and used white embossing powder as the cotton wool on the aspirin bottle and finished the ice cube with glossy accents. I was then very brave and used a piece of ribbon - I did have to have a lie down afterwards though .....

Hello Everybody

I will post as often as I can, please feel free to leave your comments as I would really welcome your opinions and would love to hear from you.

That's it for now, I will go and have a look to see if I can work out how to set up this site!! All hints and tips greatly appreciated
